Business Plan Checklist

(updated in 2023 with the new Ley Startup criteria from ENISA)

The business plan must contain at least the following elements:

Description of the project
- business activity to be carried out
- date of commencement
- location
- legal form of the company to be used
- potential economic impact of the investment
- estimate the number of (contracted) jobs to be created, their functions and qualifications
- planned activities of sales promotion, strategy, implementation of prototypes, MVP, and market launch of the service
- business model including scalability by number of users, number of transactions, or annual turnover
Description of the product or service. The description will be in detail and will include:
- product or service description
- exiting problem, market need, and demand
- innovations
- risks and their mitigation
Market analysis
- market valuation and expected evolution
- degree of attractiveness of the market
- competitors analysis
- product or service competitive advantage
- assessment of potential clients
- strategies for attracting users or clients
- analysis of supply and demand (if applicable)
- dependence on suppliers, providers,s and rental contracts
- relations with other economic operators (if applicable)
Funding
- required investment
- funding sources and financial plan.
- added value for the Spanish economy
- innovation and investment opportunities
- received public funding in the last 3 years
- cost of research, development etc during 2 previous financial years (in the previous financial year in the case of companies that are less than two years old)
The professional profile of the applicant, in addition to the curriculum vitae (CV) submitted, should explain the involvement of the applicant in the project and the position that he will occupy in the organizational chart of the company. In addition, should be briefly described :
- experience
- relevant education
- track record of the team
